New technology for smoother injections: the Artiste System
Posted on May 24, 2012We’re always on the lookout for new ways and processes to make what we do even a little bit better. Here’s a little gadget that I think will improve filler injections – it’s called the “Artiste injection system”.
Like most good ideas , the concept is simple. It’s an air-powered injector, allowing for smooth, even injections of fillers like Restylane or Juvederm. You can precisely control the speed of injection with the big blue dial on the front of the machine. It’s controlled by a footswitch to start and stop the injection process.
Early results from studies show smoother injections, with fewer lumps and bumps, and less bruising. And because you put the product exactly where it’s needed, sometimes you use a little less filler.
I heard about the prototype of this machine two years ago on the “Hot Topics in Plastic Surgery” committee – but now the company has geared up production. We are testing the machine in our office currently. It works with all types of filler injections. So far – I’m pleased with the results. Stay tuned.
