Estimated Downtime

Following neck lift aesthetic surgery, most patients will go through a downtime of about one week. The patient should ideally complete any pressing household or work-related tasks well before the surgery in order to have a stress-free recovery at home.
In the first week, the patient is likely to experience mild pain and soreness in the incision areas, which can be managed with prescription pain medications.  
 

Maintaining Blood Flow

The surgeon will encourage the patient to perform short walks and light activities at home from the second day of the surgery. This will help to promote blood flow and expedite healing. The patient should wear loose clothes that button up the front in the first few days.
