Breast Lift Surgery

Breast lift surgery is designed to address ptosis (sagging) in the breasts. Aging, breastfeeding, genetics, and lifestyle choices may cause breasts to lose both firmness and ideal positioning. With breast lift surgery, Dr. Fiala can restore a perky and ideally proportioned appearance to the chest.
During breast lift surgery, breast tissue is lifted and reformed. After the breast mound has been firmed, excess skin is removed and the incisions are closed. Nipple repositioning is common during breast lift surgery as well.
Many women experiencing breast ptosis have also lost volume. In these cases, Dr. Fiala may recommend combining a breast lift with breast augmentation. This is common during the mommy makeover procedure but is not necessary in every case. Dr. Fiala will work individually with you to determine which options will produce the results that match your desires.

Breast Reduction Surgery

Breast reduction surgery is used to improve comfort, clothing options, and confidence by eliminating excess breast tissue. During breast reduction surgery, unnecessary breast tissue and skin are removed, allowing Dr. Fiala to make breasts smaller and lighter while producing dimensions more consistent with your frame. After excess breast tissue has been removed, the breast mound is reshaped and positioned for improved aesthetics and comfort.
Breast reduction surgery is sometimes medically necessary and may even be covered by insurance. In instances where breasts have become so heavy they interfere with physical activities, breast reduction can restore comfort and lessen strain, helping you move more freely and feel less heavy throughout the day.
Breast tissue is lifted somewhat during a breast reduction, but it is not the same as a lift procedure. Combining the two can be transformative, however, and in cases where it is appropriate, Dr. Fiala can perform the procedures at the same time.
