Chemical Peels

Aging, sun damage, and several other factors can cause the skin to become wrinkled, rough, dull, or blotchy. One of the effective non-surgical solutions to restore a smooth and younger looking skin is chemical peels. A chemical peel treatment at a med spa is designed to resurface the topmost skin layers through peeling action of a customized chemical treatment.

Chemical peels are available in various types and strengths. Only an experienced treatment provider should administer advanced chemical peels to ensure safe and desirable outcomes. Fiala Aesthetics Medical Spa, led by board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Thomas Fiala, provides chemical peels to patients in Orlando, Altamonte Springs, FL, and surrounding communities.

Superficial Peels

Superficial peels may be recommended for people with minor skin aberrations that require only a mild treatment. These peels can be used on all skin types with little or no risk of complications. The treatment can be performed as an outpatient procedure, without any need for anesthesia, and causing minimal discomfort during or after the treatment.

A med spa providing superficial peels will typically use a mild form of glycolic acid. Healing will occur quickly after the treatment, and no downtime is involved in most cases. The skin may turn pink for some time, which can be hidden with makeup until it recovers its natural complexion.

Medium Peels

These chemical peels are also performed as an outpatient procedure, but will usually involve downtime of a few days. The most commonly used peeling agent is TCA acid for medium peels, which penetrates the skin more deeply than a superficial peel. Makeup may be used in about a week after the peel when sufficient healing has occurred.

Pain or discomfort is minimal after the peel treatment. The skin will turn reddish brown in the treated areas in about two to three days, and then become crusty. Flaking and peeling will occur over the next few days to reveal new, younger looking skin. Fiala Aesthetics Medical Spa receives patients from Orlando, Altamonte Springs, FL, and nearby locations for chemical peels.

Deep Peels

Deep peels provide maximum strength treatment to suitable candidates who are looking for substantial skin enhancement without surgery. Deep peels with include stronger concentrations of TCA, which will remove the upper layers of the skin. Growth of new skin will take about two weeks following a deep peel treatment.

Most patients will require at least two weeks off from work or social routine. Redness in the skin will begin to fade after about three weeks. Full results with deep peels will establish over several months, and dramatic improvements can be expected in most cases.

Popular Chemical Peels

Fiala Aesthetics Medical Spa offers the following leading chemical peel treatments to suitable candidates:

  • Hetter Peel
  • Deep Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA)

  • Combination peels

Types of Chemical Peels

Skin cell renewal is a natural process that continually regenerates the skin to keep it fresh. However, this process gradually slows down with age, and due to prolonged sun exposure and other factors. It leads to a rough texture of the skin, appearance of wrinkles and lines, and blotchy pigmentation. This condition can be improved with a non-surgical solution called chemical peels.

Fiala Aesthetics Medical Spa, led by board certified plastic surgeo Dr. Thomas Fiala, is a state of the art facility providing chemical peel treatments. Patients in Orlando, Altamonte Springs, FL, and nearby locations have an opportunity to receive treatments at the med spa.

Basic Groups of Chemical Peels

The role of a chemical peel is to resurface the uppermost layers of the skin with the peeling action of a proven chemical solution. This allows for controlled renewal of the top layers of the skin to make way for new, fresher looking skin to grow back in its place. The three basic groups of chemical peels include the following:

Superficial Peels

These are the mildest chemical peels that are suitable for all skin types. This treatment can be performed without applying any anesthetic, and involves minimal discomfort. A superficial peel typically uses glycolic acid in diluted form for a mild effect. The healing of the skin takes place quickly because only minimal peeling will occur with superficial peels.

Medium Peels

The medium chemical peel treatment may be performed as an outpatient procedure, but it will involve a downtime of a few days. TCA is the peeling agent that is typically used for medium peels. It causes deeper peeling compared to the superficial group. It may take up to five to seven days to heal, but the recovery period will involve little or no pain.

Deep Peels

Deep chemical peels mostly employ a stronger concentration of TCA peeling agent. Regrowth of skin may take about 10 to 14 days following a deep peel treatment. Redness in the skin will remain for about three weeks, which can be camouflaged with makeup after two weeks. The downtime involved in deep peel treatment may be up to two weeks. Complete healing will take several months, but the most impressive outcomes can be achieved with deep peels.

What are under-eye hollows (dark circles)?

Under Eye Hollows are volume loss under the eye area creating a tired appearance. Hollows can get more noticeable as the skin loses volume with age and lifestyle factors like lack of sleep. This non-surgical solution rejuvenates and plumps the under eye area and improves the appearance of dark circles.

How do I get rid of tired eyes and dark circles?

An under-eye filler is a cosmetic procedure that uses hyaluronic acid (Restylane, Juvederm, Belotero) to treat dark circles under your eyes. Deep tear troughs can cause shadows that mirror dark circles. Also known as a tear trough, under-eye fillers can help with a tired or sunken appearance and deep indentations.

What are under-eye dermal fillers?

Tear trough filler can help fix the problem area under the eyes. During tear trough filler treatment, such as Juvederm or Restylane is injected into the fragile under eye skin. Dr. Fiala and his staff are very conservative when injecting this tender area with filler, as using too much product will yield poor results. Typically, treatment starts with half a syringe of filler. Then filler is re-injected in 2 weeks for optimum results. It is important to know that tear trough filler treatment is not a one and done process and you should expect to undergo multiple treatments to get optimal results.

Why get under-eye fillers?

Fillers work as a way to replace lost volume to make areas of the face, including the under eyes, look more youthful and help get rid of those dark circles. They are helpful for anyone with darker circles or loss of fat in the tear troughs/under-eye area to help produce a more naturally rested appearance.

What are eye fillers made of and how long do they last?

Under-eye fillers are injectable hyaluronic acid treatments (commonly known as Restylane and Juvederm) that can be used to treat volume loss underneath the eyes. The fillers generally last six to nine months and cannot help with hyperpigmentation (i.e., dark circles).

What is Restylane dermal filler?

Restylane is a brand of hyaluronic acid–based facial fillers used to smooth wrinkles. Different types of Restylane can be used for various needs, including:

  • minimizing dark circles under your eyes
  • lip enhancement
  • targeting lines around your mouth
  • adding volume to your cheeks

Hyaluronic acid naturally occurs in the connective tissue of skin, so it’s most commonly used in aesthetic procedures.

Almost anyone can get Restylane since the procedure is easily done and recovery is quick.

What is Juvederm dermal filler?

Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler. There are several products in the Juvederm family. They all are used to help people address the facial signs of aging. Each product in the Juvederm line features different bonding and concentrations of hyaluronic acid. The different products are each tailored to target specific problems when injected into different areas and depths. Juvederm fillers have a smooth, gel-like consistency.

Juvederm types:

  • Juvederm Voluma XC adds volume beneath your skin’s surface to increase the size of your cheeks.
  • Juvederm XC and Juvederm Vollure XC address the loss of skin elasticity and fill out wrinkles and lines around the mouth and nose — known as smile lines.
  • Juvederm Ultra XC and Juvederm Volbella XC work as nonsurgical lip enhancement and under the eye volumizer.

Are eye fillers safe?

“Yes, eye fillers are safe as long as they are done in the hands of an experienced professional,” said Dr. Fiala. “Check if they are board-certified in the appropriate specialty and their level of experience with cosmetics. It’s important that your provider is qualified and experienced in injecting the area. This means that your injector understands the anatomy well, risks of the procedure and has been appropriately trained in how to give a natural result. You should see a dermatologist or plastic surgeon with experience in cosmetics for this procedure.”

Laser Skin Resurfacing Treatments vs. Botox

While facelift is an established cosmetic surgery procedure to reduce facial wrinkles, many patients want to avoid surgical treatment for aesthetic enhancements. In such cases, the surgeon may recommend innovative non-surgical wrinkle reduction procedures such as laser skin tightening or Botox injections.

Fiala Aesthetics Medical Spa, led by double board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Thomas Fiala, provides laser skin resurfacing as well as Botox treatment for facial anti-aging in a state of the art practice environment. Patients in Orlando, Altamonte Springs, FL, and surrounding locations have an opportunity to receive innovative and proven procedures from Dr. Fiala.

Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing

CO2 laser technology has revolutionized the field of non-invasive anti-wrinkle facial aesthetics procedures. Traditional laser resurfacing procedures are more invasive, which usually involve more discomfort as well as longer recovery period. Therefore, Fiala Aesthetics offers fractional CO2 laser skin resurfacing as a less invasive and yet an effective alternative to cosmetic surgery.

The fractional technique will deliver the same benefits of standard CO2 laser, but with an easier procedure and a faster recovery. This procedure involves a pattern of tiny laser dots on the targeted area to reduce the wrinkles. The gaps between the dots play the role of a reservoir for skin healing, enabling easier recovery. Fiala Aesthetics is equipped with state of the art Juvia CO2 Fractional Laser technology to perform this anti-wrinkle procedure.

Results with Fractional Laser

Optimal results with fractional CO2 laser skin resurfacing can be achieved when the provider precisely controls both the amount and the depth of laser energy. Leading plastic surgeon Dr. Fiala and his expert team are highly experienced in performing laser procedures with desirable results.

The procedure will create more youthful looking, evently toned and smoother skin. Facial lines and wrinkles will be diminished and other skin damage such as hyperpigmentation and acne scarring will be significantly improved. A refreshed and rejuvenated appearance of the skin will be restored. Dr. Fiala receives patients from Orlando, Altamonte Springs, FL, and nearby areas for facial anti-aging procedures.

Botox Injectable Treatment

Ever since Botox was approved by the FDA in 2002 for the cosmetic reduction of frown lines on the face, it has continued to dominate the field of non-surgical anti-wrinkle procedures. Botox can effectively improve the expression lines and wrinkles in the upper face as well as mouth and lip area simply with an injectable treatment.

Fiala Aesthetics has been one of the earliest providers of Botox Cosmetic injections in Central Florida. In fact, the medical spa is recognized as an Allergan “Platinum Plus” Provider and also serves as a National Training Center for Cosmetic Injections. Fiala Aesthetics is one of the largest cosmetic injection practices in Central Florida.

Botox injections include botulinum toxin, which is a powerful biological agent delivered directly into the overactive wrinkle-forming facial muscles in microscopic doses. The treatment is designed to cause controlled relaxation of the targeted muscles, leading to smoothing of the skin on the surface and fading away of wrinkles and fine lines. The procedure involves almost no downtime, which makes it ideal for working people and busy moms.

The Average Vanquish System Cost

Fiala Aesthetics Medical Spa constantly strives to offer the latest, cutting-edge solutions in cosmetic enhancement that are non-invasive or minimally invasive. Led by a double board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Thomas Fiala, the med spa takes utmost care that only the safest and proven treatments are provided by qualified treatment experts. Patients in Orlando, Altamonte Springs, FL and surrounding areas who are looking for effective non-surgical cosmetic treatments have an opportunity to receive advanced procedures at Fiala Aesthetics & Medical Spa

What is the Vanquish System?

The Vanquish System is one of the latest introductions in non-invasive cosmetic treatments in the U.S. market. The system is designed to achieve fat reduction in targeted fat pockets in the body to produce a more even and attractive looking contour. Fiala med spa is committed to provide the most effective and latest innovations in cosmetic enhancement to its patients, and in that endeavor, it has become one of the earliest adopters of the Vanquish System in the region.

This unique technology is based on radio frequency, and is designed to deliver precise quantum of thermal energy to unwanted fat cells in specific areas of the body that suffer from stubborn fats. The system is completely safe and non-surgical, and achieves the desired results without causing any harm to the surrounding healthy tissue. Patients in and around Orlando and Altamonte Springs, FL can receive this advanced treatment at the Fiala Aesthetics Medical Spa

Cost Comparison with Plastic Surgery

Some patients may be reluctant to choose a fat reduction plastic surgery procedure such as liposuction simply because of its relatively higher cost in accordance to their budget. Most cosmetic procedures do not have coverage under health insurance, which may make them less affordable for some patients. A non-surgical procedure such as the Vanquish System can prove to be much more cost-effective compared to a surgery.

Vanquish treatments do not involve any anesthesia costs because the procedure is nearly pain-free. As a non-surgical procedure, the fee of the plastic surgeon and the operating room costs are also avoided. Other typical costs associated with a surgery such as medical tests, prescription drugs, or surgical garments are also avoided in case of a non-invasive solution such as the Vanquish System.

Therefore, apart from avoiding all the risks, pain and recovery period issues associated with a surgery, the Vanquish is also more cost-effective for candidates who are well-suited for this procedure.

Factors Affecting the Cost

The average cost of a Vanquish System fat reduction treatment is likely to vary from one medical spa to another based on several factors. For instance, the cost of the procedure in Orlando, Altamonte Springs, FL and nearby areas may differ from the cost of the same procedure in Virginia or Maryland. This can happen because the general cost of living may vary from one state to another, which can have an influence on the average costs of all kinds of products and services, including aesthetic procedures.

If a particular med spa provides state of the art facilities, including the guidance and supervision of an experienced surgeon, the back-up of qualified and highly skilled support staff, and various amenities and services to ensure total comfort for the patient, it may charge a slightly higher cost compared to an average facility. When patients make cost comparisons for the Vanquish System treatment at different places, they should consider all these factors in order to make an informed choice.

Average Cost of the Procedure

Vanquish Fat Removal Before & After Photos

The extent of fat reduction treatment required may vary from one patient to another. Some patients may have a very limited need for treatment, and may be able to achieve the desired results within a single treatment session. However, many patients achieve best outcomes with four treatment sessions on average. The cost of treatment session may range between $500 and $600 at a reputed medical spa

In other words, the total cost of treatment may range from $2,500 to $3,000 for four treatments of the Vanquish System. The extent of treatment area and the number of areas to be treated will vary from one patient to another. Therefore, the operating expert must make an appropriate treatment plan to meet the patient’s aesthetic goals.

Insurance and Financing

The Vanquish System treatment is primarily an elective procedure performed for cosmetic purposes. Therefore, the cost of treatment may not be covered under the patient’s health insurance plan. Patients may consider making the payment through credit card to avail some credit period rather than making upfront cash payment.

Alternatively, the patients may explore the medical care credit options through the med spa office, or contact the credit providers directly. This can allow them to pay for the treatment in convenient monthly installments. Such payment arrangements should be explored and finalized in advance before the patient undergoes the treatment.

Varicose Vein Treatment

Laser vein treatment has emerged as one of the most precise and effective solutions to eliminate varicose veins and spider veins. The treatment can be received at a reputed med spa with capabilities to deliver advanced laser based vein therapies. The laser energy is concentrated on the diseased vein, which leads to scar tissue formation and eventual closure of the targeted vein.

The closed vein gradually disintegrates and disappears, resulting in smoother skin appearance. Fiala Aesthetics Medical Spa, led by board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Thomas Fiala, is a premier provider of laser vein treatments. The med spa receives patients from Orlando, Altamonte Springs, FL, and surrounding communities.

Basic Laser Therapy

A basic laser vein therapy can be performed superficially on the outer part of the skin. It can help address tiny varicose veins and spider veins that lie just beneath the top layer of the skin. This treatment is usually performed on the face. Multiple treatment sessions may be required for this therapy, which will be scheduled several weeks apart.

In case the laser vein expert find that poor blood flow is feeding the tiny veins, they may first treat the larger feeder vein with advanced endovenous laser surgery, sclerotherapy, or another procedure. The procedure should ideally be received at a med spa recognized for laser vein treatment.

Endovenous Laser Treatment

Endovenous laser treatment is a slightly invasive procedure that is designed to treat larger varicose veins that usually occur in the leg area. A laser fiber is passed through a catheter or a slender tube into the targeted vein. The laser expert will observe the vein on an ultrasound screen during this process.

As compared to stripping and vein ligation, endovenous laser procedure is less painful and involves lesser downtime. The entire procedure may be performed only using local anesthesia or a light sedative. Fiala Aesthetics & Medical Spa provides endovenous laser and other vein treatments to patients in Orlando, Altamonte Springs, FL, and nearby locations.

Recovery

Recovery period is typically short, and most patients will be able to walk smoothly immediately after the treatment. In case of basic laser therapy, the patient can return to normal routine immediately. Endovenous laser treatment may require about two days before the patient has recovered adequately to resume the daily activities. In this case, the patient will be required to wear compression stockings for a few weeks to expedite healing.

Effectiveness

Over the last two decades, the basic laser therapy for spider veins and minor varicose veins has become fairly effective and very safe. In case of endovenous laser treatment, the varicose veins are closed in about 94 percent of the cases. In the remaining few cases where the treatment may not achieve vein closure the treatment may have to be combined with traditional surgery or sclerotherapy.

Side Effects

Some patients may experience mild, temporary side effects such as minor skin burns, changes in skin coloration, feeling or pain or prickling during recovery. The risk of side effects is minimized when the procedure is performed by an experienced laser specialist.

Laser Vein Treatment – Say Goodbye to Spider Veins

Excel Laser Spider Vein Treatment Before & After Photos

Laser vein treatments have emerged as one of the most effective non-surgical med spa solutions to treat unsightly spider veins and minor varicose veins. Laser vein procedure is cost-effective and customizable according to a patient’s skin type and extent of vascular condition. Laser exposure can be adjusted to treat varying depths and sizes of blood vessels.

Fiala Aesthetics Medical Spa, led by double board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Thomas Fiala, provides advanced laser technologies to treat spider veins in the legs and face with outstanding results. In some cases, laser therapy may also be employed to treat mid-sized reticular veins. Dr. Fiala provides laser vein treatments to patients in Orlando, Altamonte Springs, FL, and surrounding locations.

Advanced Excel Laser Technology

Dr. Fiala’s med spa is equipped with state of the art Excel Laser technology that can provide customized treatments according to the unique needs of a patient. The Excel Laser is designed to deliver controlled pulses of laser energy directly to the targeted blood vessels in the spider veins. The high precision technology ensures that the overlying skin and surrounding healthy areas are not harmed.

The laser energy delivered by Excel Laser will cause the inner lining of the disease vein to collapse, sealing it off from the surrounding healthy vascular system. The targeted vein will disintegrate and gradually get absorbed and cleared through the body’s natural healing process. Dr. Fiala may particularly recommend laser vein treatment for patients who wish to avoid injectable therapies.

The staff at Fiala Aesthetics Medical Spa is highly skilled and experienced in performing laser vein treatments. They will engage closely with the patient to understand their individual needs and create a customized laser therapy suited specifically to their condition and lifestyle. Dr. Fiala receives patients from Orlando, Altamonte Springs, FL, and nearby areas.

Selective Photothermolysis

Laser vein treatment at Dr. Fiala’s med spa employs the laser’s monochromatic light, which passes through the skin to get absorbed by the targeted blood vessel. The heat generated by the laser causes thermal coagulation of the vessel, which is known as selective photothermolysis.

A precise dosage of laser energy is delivered to each targeted spider vein, posing minimal risk to the surrounding healthy tissue. The disintegrated vessel eventually gets absorbed by the body. If the targeted area is small, a single laser vein treatment may suffice. More extensive areas will usually require multiple treatment sessions.

Treatment Session

Each treatment session will normally last for about 15 to 30 minutes. The laser expert will first apply a numbing cream to the targeted area to keep the patient completely comfortable. Controlled laser pulses will then be delivered to ‘zap’ the small blood vessels one by one.

The treated veins will shrink visibly or disappear completely. Laser therapy can address almost every type of minor vein disorder, including stubborn spider veins that may not have responded to other treatments.

Recovery

Most patients will be able to go back to work or resume regular activities immediately after the laser procedure. However, vigorous activity should be avoided for at least 24 hours after the treatment. Sunscreen should be used in the treated areas for several weeks or months after the therapy.

WHAT IS INTENSE PULSED LIGHT (IPL) TREATMENT?

Intense pulsed light (IPL) is a cosmetic skin treatment. People may use it to reduce the signs of aging or remove unwanted hair. Other uses include reducing the appearance of scars, lightening darker patches of skin, and improving the appearance of spider veins.

IPL works in a similar way to laser therapy. The difference is that where laser therapy delivers a single wavelength of light energy, IPL delivers multiple wavelengths. This means that IPL can treat a larger area of skin in a shorter time than laser therapy.

IPL TREATS:

People may choose IPL as a treatment for a range of skin issues. These include:

  • acne scars
  • birthmarks
  • rosacea, a condition that causes redness of the face
  • hyperpigmentation, including liver or age spots and freckles
  • melasma, a condition causing brown or gray-brown skin patches
  • scars
  • spider veins
  • stretch marks
  • sun damaged skin
  • wrinkles
  • pigmentation
  • vascular lesions

WHAT IS LUMECCA by INMODE?

Lumecca is a breakthrough intense pulsed light (IPL) that delivers up to 3X more energy in the 500-600 nm range to improve efficacy for vascular and pigmented lesions. It is optimized for clinicians to treat a variety of lesions with fewer sessions.

KEY BENEFITS:

  • High efficiency of treatment due to high peak power and optimized output.
  • Complete photo rejuvenation in 1 or 2 treatments for most patients versus 4-6 treatments with standard IPL’s.
  • Reduces treatment time thanks to large spot size and high pulse repetition rate.
  • Strong sapphire cooling tip results in higher treatment comfort.

Laser Vein Treatment Cost for Varicose Veins and Spider Veins

Laser treatment for varicose veins and spider veins is a procedure that is equipped with advanced laser technologies. An experienced treatment provider will discuss various aspects of the laser procedure during the initial consultation, including its estimated costs. This allows the patient to make a comparison of costs and benefits with other vein treatment therapies, and make an informed choice.

Fiala Aesthetics & Med Spa, led by board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Thomas Fiala, provides state of the art laser treatments for varicose and spider veins. During the initial consultation, the treatment expert will discuss various aspects of the procedure along with its estimated costs to help ensure that the patient can make an informed decision. The medical spa receives patients from Orlando, Altamonte Springs, FL and surrounding areas.

Factors Impacting the Cost

The cost of laser treatment for varicose veins and spider veins may differ from medical spa to another based on several factors. In some cases, the cost will also differ between two patients at the same facility.

Where the Medical Spa is Located

The geographical location of the facility will make a difference to the overall cost of the laser vein procedure. This happens because the cost of living will usually differ between two regions, which will have an impact on the average cost of most types of goods and services, including aesthetic procedures. For instance, the financial considerations of laser vein treatment in Orlando, Altamonte Springs, FL, and surrounding areas may not be the same as the financial impact in, say, Oklahoma City.

Quality of Treatment

Many patients may choose to receive treatment at a state of the art aesthetics med spa that is fully equipped with advanced laser systems and backed by experienced staff to provide a safe, comfortable, and personalized treatment to every patient. The cost of laser vein treatment in such case may be slightly higher in comparison to an average facility with limited technology and bare minimum solutions to offer.

Extent of Treatment

The cost of laser treatment may be impacted by the extent of treatment that a particular patient needs. In some cases, the problem of varicose or spider veins may be confined only to a single, limited area.

In other cases, the number of diseased veins may be higher, and spread over multiple areas, requiring more than one treatment sessions. The cost of treatment will usually be determined on the basis of the total duration and the number of treatment sessions needed.

Average Cost

The average cost of the laser vein treatment procedure can range from $800 to $4,000, depending on the number of veins to be treatment and other factors as discussed. During the treatment planning process, the experts will estimate the number of treatment sessions a patient may require, and provide the idea of this procedure’s effect on your purse strings.

If the condition of varicose veins is causing pain, debilitation or other medical issues the cost may be covered by health insurance. Alternatively, patients may seek to finance the procedure through various financing options.
