Mommy Makeover Surgery

“Mommy Makeover” is a popular surgical process in which a new mother goes through plastic surgery to acquire or enhance her features. This process involves multiple surgeries which are aimed at making the mother look like her past self (pre-birth).

One reason that this procedure has gained popularity is that it is custom-tailored to each mother’s personal needs and wants. Not only does the procedure make you look like your past self, but it can also contour things that you may not have been happy with before.

Before you decide to go under the knife, here are a few questions you ask yourself –

Am I in a position to get a “Mommy Makeover”?

You should be in good health before you can consider getting a “Mommy Makeover”. Your health is of paramount importance as multiple surgeries might take some time to perform and you need time to heal too.

Few more questions to ask yourself –

  • Will you have more kids in the future?
  • How long ago was your last birth?
  • Are you breastfeeding?
  • What are your goals here?

The procedure is recommended for people who won’t have any children soon and are not breastfeeding. You should discuss with your doctor about plastic surgery and how long ago you gave birth to your last child. You should also discuss your appearance goals with a plastic surgeon and have a clear goal in mind. This will let the plastic surgeon prepare well for the cosmetic plastic surgery.

Which procedures should I go for?

If your surgeon gives you the all-clear for the surgery, you now need to decide what all areas you want to get work done on. A tummy tuck, breast enhancement, and liposuction are some of the more popular combinations. Your personal goals will dictate a lot of the procedures, which can be understood when you talk to your surgeon.

How and what will recovery be like?

In most cases, it can take up to a month to recover from a “Mommy Makeover.” The actual recovery depends on the number of procedures that you included in the makeover.

During the first few days, you will have to abstain from lifting anything heavy and rest as much as possible. You should not lift even your children and bending is out of bounds too.

You will experience some swelling and bruising. There might be a feeling of tightness around the areas worked upon too. Plastic surgery can make you feel a bit fatigued too but all these diminish as your recovery period goes on. Going to a medical spa after the makeover is also a good option to aid in recovery.

Scarring and healing

In most cases, scarring will be a minimum and not very visible. An expert surgeon will be able to hide your scars from public view in normal clothing. It can take up to 2 years for the scars to fully heal, but they will start to lighten after a few months.

When will you be able to see results?

If your recovery period is going well, you will be able to see the results of your makeover in 3-4 months. However, if there are complications while recovering, it can take up to 6 months to see the results.

Best Liposuction Plastic Surgeon

The choice of a liposuction surgeon is a decision that will impact the patient’s life for a long time, if not their entire lifetime.

A liposuction body sculpting cosmetic surgery can develop an appealing neck appearance for patients who are unhappy with the look of their sagging neck area.

But this procedure can lead to undesirable results in the hands of a less qualified or inexperienced surgeon, which may lead to disappointment for the patient as well as extra money and time spent on revision surgery. For this reason, it is advisable for patients to work with a well-qualified and experienced liposuction surgeon.

Selecting an ABPS Board Certified Surgeon

Ideally, patients should work with a cosmetic surgeon who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). Surgeons with ABPS board certification would have received a minimum number of years of training in the field of cosmetic surgery after medical school.

Additionally, ABPS board certified surgeons must undergo a minimum of two years of plastic surgery residency training before they are eligible for this globally-recognized certification.

Comfort Level and Personal Rapport

It is important for the patient to closely observe how the surgeon and their staff make them feel. There are some associated risks with any surgical procedure. These risks may create challenges in the patient’s journey to achieve their desired aesthetic goals. Therefore, patients should work with a surgeon with whom they feel comfortable.

The patient should consider the following:

  • How does interacting with this cosmetic surgeon make me feel?
  • Do I find this plastic surgeon trustworthy and believe that they will recommend appropriate procedures to me?
  • Do I feel at-ease asking the surgeon questions and expressing doubts during the liposuction consultation process?
  • Will I be able to comfortably reveal my medical history and lifestyle habits to this liposuction surgeon?

Questions to Ask During the Consultation

The patient should create a list of all questions that they have prior to the consultation and take this list to their appointment with the liposuction surgeon.

  • Details on the qualifications and background of the plastic surgeon
  • Information on the surgical facility (ideally, the surgery should take place at a hospital, an accredited surgical suite, or a surgical center)
  • Emergency protocols
  • The experience of the surgeon in undertaking body sculpting and other plastic surgeries
  • The risks related to liposuction plastic surgery
  • Liposuction alternatives
  • Before and after images and testimonials of previous patients

In case the patient feels that the surgeon is not forthcoming and honest during their discussion, they should reconsider their choice of a plastic surgeon.

Focus on Customization and Innovation

Each person has a unique anatomy. Patients usually achieve the best results from liposuction cosmetic surgery when the plastic surgeon individualizes the procedure to their specific anatomical and cosmetic needs.

Plastic surgeons who use cutting-edge liposuction techniques usually offer their patients beautiful results in a minimally invasive and least painful way. Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Thomas Fiala receives patients from Orlando, FL and nearby areas for liposuction body contouring.

Liposuction

The prospect of being able to show off your slim, sleek body after a body contouring procedure like liposuction is pretty exciting. And of course you want your procedure to go as smoothly and as safely as possible so you can enjoy the results as quickly as possible.

To help make your liposuction surgery as safe and as successful as it can be, here are nine things you can do in advance to prepare for your procedure.

Your surgeon may have additional steps for you to take, and will likely provide more detailed instructions as you begin your liposuction journey. Be sure to follow all of your surgeon’s pre- and post-operative instructions carefully.

Do your homework

You want to be sure that liposuction is the right procedure for you. Conducting preliminary research will help you understand what liposuction involves and whether it’s the right choice for you. Your plastic surgeon will be ready to answer all of your questions during your initial consultation.

Reach your goal weight

Liposuction is not a weight loss procedure so it is important to be at or close to your goal weight before you undergo liposuction plastic surgery. If you are overweight, you may be asked to lose a certain amount of weight before having liposuction. Liposuction is not recommended for individuals with a BMI of more than 30 or for individuals with poor skin elasticity.

Quit smoking

We all know that smoking is harmful for your health in a variety of ways. But did you know that smoking can increase the risk of complications during surgery and make it difficult for your body to heal after surgery? We recommend that all patients quit smoking at least several weeks before liposuction surgery, both for their short- and long-term health.

Plan for recovery downtime

Like any surgical procedure, it takes time to recover from liposuction. Therefore, you should plan your schedule ahead of time to ensure that you have adequate downtime to fully recover. Prepare for at least several days of rest, but understand that some people require even longer before they are fully up and moving. So get those vacation days on the calendar, stock up on reading material, and fill up your Netflix queue so you are ready to relax and heal.

Get lab work and medical evaluations

Your surgeon may require that you do preliminary blood work, lab tests, or other medical evaluations. Some tests may be required even before you can schedule your surgery. Others may be required in the weeks and days leading up to your procedure. Be sure to follow your surgeon’s timetable carefully.

Adjust your medications as necessary

Be sure to tell your surgeon about all medications and herbal supplements that you take, whether regularly or occasionally. You may need to adjust some medications or avoid taking some entirely to avoid negative interactions or other complications. Be sure to avoid taking anti-inflammatory drugs, aspirin, and herbal supplements, as they can increase the likelihood of excessive bleeding.

Fill prescriptions in advance

Fill any prescriptions that you will need after surgery before your procedure. Having these medications readily on hand immediately will help keep you safe and comfortable during your recovery. You may also want to stock up on cold packs to alleviate swelling and discomfort, and have basic wound care supplies on hand as well.

Arrange for transportation and recovery assistance

You will need to arrange for a family member or friend to drive you to your procedure and take you home when your liposuction is complete. You will also want to ensure that a family member or friend stays with you for at least the first 24-hours after your procedure.

Follow all pre-surgical instructions

Your surgeon will likely provide a very specific list of things you will need to do immediately in advance of your procedure. For example, you may need to stop eating a number of hours before your procedure. It is important to follow all these instructions extremely carefully. Doing so will help make your surgery as safe as possible.

And don’t forget to follow all post-operative instructions just as carefully to help minimize the risk of post-surgical complications and to ensure the best possible long-term results.

If you have any questions about how to prepare for your liposuction surgery, don’t hesitate to call your surgeon and ask.

Questions to Ask Before Liposuction

As with any surgical procedure, it’s important that you begin your liposuction journey armed with as much information as you can gather about the procedure and who will be performing it. Doing your research in advance will help ensure that you get the results you want from your liposuction surgery.

You’ve probably already spent plenty of time reading about liposuction and other body contouring procedures on the Internet. And this can be a good place to start. But your best source of information is your surgeon.

Your surgeon will provide you with the most accurate information about liposuction. More importantly, they can offer critical details about how liposuction will work for you. So don’t hesitate to take advantage of your surgeon as a valuable source of information.

You should take as much time as you want during your initial consultation with your surgeon to ask as many questions as you need to in order to feel comfortable with your surgeon and with the procedure.

We recommend going into your consultation with a list of questions that you have prepared in advance. That way, you can be sure that you will have the information you need to make informed decisions about your procedure.

Generally speaking, your questions should focus on what the surgery will involve and what you can expect before, during, and after the procedure. You will also want to ask about the qualifications of your surgeon and the steps they will take before, during, and after the procedure to ensure your safety and well-being.

Here are 15 questions that you should ask your plastic surgeon during your consultation:

  1. Am I a good candidate for liposuction? Why or why not?
  2. What surgical technique will you use during my liposuction procedure?
  3. What can I expect to look like after my procedure? (Ask to look at Before and After Photos to get a better visualization of potential results.)
  4. What will my results look like if I age? What happens if I gain weight or get pregnant?
  5. What if I don’t like the way I look after my procedure?
  6. What can I do to ensure the best results before and after my liposuction surgery?
  7. How long will my recovery be, and what will it involve?
  8. What are the potential risks and complications associated with liposuction surgery?
  9. How will you mitigate or handle complications if they do arise?
  10. Where will my liposuction procedure take place?
  11. If you will perform my procedure in your office, is the facility accredited by a state- or federally-recognized accrediting agency?
  12. Do you have hospital privileges, and if so, do you recommend using a hospital for the procedure? If so, what hospital(s)?
  13. Are you a Board-certified plastic surgeon? Is your certification with the American Board of Plastic Surgery?
  14. How many years of training in liposuction surgery have you had?
  15. How long have you been performing liposuction surgery?

This list is meant to help guide your discussions with your surgeon so you can feel comfortable and informed about this important decision. But you should not feel limited by this list. You should feel empowered to ask your surgeon any and all questions that you feel are important to help you make the best decision for you.

Liposuction can be a truly life-altering procedure, so you want to do everything you can to get the results you want. Don’t hesitate, ask!

Liposuction Surgery

After years of battling stubborn curves and excess fat, you’ve had it! You’ve tried to diet and you eat (relatively) healthy. You have an active lifestyle and exercise regularly. Yet those love handles and unwanted bulges just won’t slim down.

After all that effort, you have finally decided to pursue a body contouring procedure such as liposuction. But what comes next? How do you get from making that important decision to getting your procedure done?

The first step is to research Board Certified plastic surgeons in your area. Next, contact your chosen surgeon for additional information about liposuction or other procedures. Most practices will provide basic information about the procedure to help guide the preliminary decision-making process.

The most critical step, however, is scheduling a consultation with your Board Certified plastic surgeon. An in-person consultation will enable you to discuss the specifics of your procedure directly with your surgeon. It will enable your surgeon to get to know you in order to develop a surgical plan perfect for your unique body and aesthetic goals. And it will enable you to get to know your surgeon as well.

So what can you expect from your consultation?

Medical Exam

One of the first things you can expect during your consultation is a medical exam.

Your surgeon will talk with you about your overall health and your medical history. This discussion should include a review of past surgeries, past and current health concerns, and all medications you are taking.

The consultation will also include a physical exam. In particular, your surgeon will be looking for three specific issues that may impact whether liposuction is appropriate.

The first is your BMI. Liposuction is only appropriate for individuals who are in good overall health and are at or close to their ideal weight. If you are overweight, your surgeon may recommend a pre-surgery weight loss program.

The second is your skin tone. Liposuction is only appropriate for individuals with good skin elasticity. If you have excess or loose skin, your surgeon may recommend a different procedure or a combination of procedures to achieve the results you want.

The last issue is the location of your excess fatty tissue. Liposuction can only target fat cells directly under your skin (subcutaneous fat). Internal fat, or fat cells located inside the abdomen, cannot be removed through liposuction.

Realistic Results and Your Expectations

The consultation is your opportunity to tell your surgeon your aesthetic goals and what you hope to achieve from your liposuction surgery. You may be asked to review some “Before and After” pictures to help define your goals. This part of the process will help ensure that your surgeon can develop a surgical plan to meet your unique goals.

At the same time, your surgeon will help you understand the benefits—and limitations—of liposuction surgery. Liposuction is a powerful body contouring procedure but it can’t do everything. It’s important to have realistic expectations about what liposuction can achieve and what your body will look like after surgery.

What to Expect from Liposuction Surgery and Potential Risks

While often called a “body contouring procedure”, liposuction is surgical in nature. It requires anesthesia and a recovery period, and it does entail certain risks.

During your consultation, your surgeon will review what you can expect before, during, and after your liposuction procedure. They will also review the potential risks involved with the procedure so you can make an informed choice about whether you are sure liposuction is the right option for you.

Opportunity to Ask Questions

The in-person consultation with your surgeon is a very important step in the process of getting a body contouring procedure. Of course it’s important from the surgeon’s perspective: it’s his or her opportunity to get the information they need, and to ensure that you have the information you need.

However, the consultation is also your opportunity. It’s your chance to get to know your surgeon and to ask and all questions that you have about liposuction or cosmetic procedures more generally.

Having a consultation does not commit you to undergoing surgery, or undergoing surgery with that surgeon. If you feel rushed or the surgeon does not take the time to answer your questions, then it’s ok to seek out a second opinion.

Your body is very important, and liposuction is a surgical procedure. So it’s important that you are fully comfortable with your surgeon and the procedure before scheduling your surgery. Be sure to take the time you need during your in-person consultation to feel 100% comfortable with the step you are about to take.

Liposuction Plastic Surgery

Tired of excess fat that just doesn’t seem to disappear, even with diet and exercise? If this sounds like you, you might be a candidate for liposuction.

Liposuction is a highly popular body contouring surgery that—quite literally—removes unwanted fat cells. Using a small, thin tube called a cannula, your plastic surgeon suctions out the targeted fat cells. And once they are gone, those fat cells can no longer grow back.

Liposuction may be the ideal solution for anyone seeking a slim, trimmer physique, especially around the abdomen, waist, hips, and thighs.

It may also be an excellent solution for anyone seeking to eliminate tough, stubborn fatty pockets in areas that usually don’t “slim down” on their own. Examples include the upper arms, the chin, or the inner knees and calves.

Although highly effective as a body contouring procedure, liposuction is not appropriate for everyone. Here, we outline some of the basic criteria for determining whether you might be a candidate for liposuction plastic surgery. During your consultation, your surgeon will review these and other criteria to determine whether liposuction is the right choice for you.

Liposuction might be right for you if:

  • You are near or at your ideal weight: Liposuction is a body contouring procedure, not a weight loss procedure. It is only designed to remove a relatively small amount of fat cells in order to help you achieve a slimmer body shape.
  • You must be in good overall health: It’s true that once removed, fat cells won’t regrow. However, it is still possible to gain weight after liposuction, as your remaining fat cells continue to accumulate and store fat. Establishing healthy lifestyle habits before your procedure is key to ensuring that you maintain the results of your liposuction.
  • You have good skin elasticity: If your skin is loose and inelastic, it may not properly reshape to account for the reduction in subcutaneous fat. The result could be loose, saggy skin that will undermine your slim physique. In some cases, your surgeon may suggest a more extensive procedure—such as a Tummy Tuck—that will address excess skin as well as fatty tissue.
  • You have reasonable expectations about your potential results: Liposuction is not a miracle surgery. It can help you achieve a slimmer shape that may be closer to your ideal. But it cannot radically change your body shape.

Liposuction might not be right for you:

  • Your BMI is higher than 30: In addition to the fact that liposuction is not a weight loss procedure, the risk of complications during anesthesia and surgery increases greatly with obesity. For individuals with BMI under 30 but still considered overweight, pre-surgery weight loss might be recommended. Find your BMI here.
  • Your fat is not subcutaneous: Unfortunately, not all fat cells are appropriate for removal during liposuction. Liposuction can only remove subcutaneous fat, which is located directly underneath the skin. Some fat cells are located within the abdominal cavity and cannot be removed with liposuction. A physical exam or pre-surgery liposuction will determine whether your fat is subcutaneous or internal (omental).

If you are frustrated by excess fatty tissue that just won’t go away and find yourself dreaming of a slimmer, trimmer you, then liposuction might be the answer for you. To find out if you are a candidate for liposuction, contact your plastic surgeon for a consultation today.

Nose reshaping cosmetic surgery or nose job, clinically called rhinoplasty, can be performed using different surgical techniques. The choice of technique will depend on the patient’s specific needs to improve the shape or size of the nose, or correct functional problems, or both. In any case, the steps involved in the rhinoplasty procedure will usually remain unchanged.

The surgeon will educate the patient about the procedure steps at the time of pre-operative consultation. Some surgeons may even show images or a video of the actual rhinoplasty procedure. Once the patient understands the procedure, they will often feel more confident about going ahead with the surgery.

Fiala Aesthetics Plastic Surgery, led by kind, compassionate, and board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Thomas Fiala, provides rhinoplasty to patients in Orlando, Altamonte Springs, FL, and other towns and suburbs in this part of North Florida.

Surgical Planning

Based on the information acquired during the consultation, the surgeon will create a customized revision nose surgery plan to perform the necessary corrective steps. The plan will be designed to ensure that the natural facial balance and harmony is not disrupted and overall facial balance and appearance of the face is enhanced.

A rhinoplasty will be performed using an open or closed surgery technique. The surgeon will determine the technique, the type of anesthesia to be used and the choice of surgical venue in consultation with the patient. The surgeon’s goal will be to achieve maximum aesthetic improvement in a less invasive manner.

Anesthesia

Once the patient is brought into the operating room, they will be placed under anesthesia. General anesthesia or local anesthesia with IV sedation may be used in case of rhinoplasty. It will be administered by an anesthesiologist or a registered anesthetist nurse. They may remain present in the surgery room through the procedure to monitor the patient’s response.

Grogginess, nausea and other mild side effects may linger on for a few hours after the cosmetic surgery procedure. Patients can return home the same day, but they should have someone responsible to drive them back home and preferably have someone stay over for the first one or two days for assistance.

Surgical Procedure

Following anesthesia, the surgeon will place small incisions along the columella and inside the nostrils in case of open rhinoplasty. If closed rhinoplasty technique is used, then only the incisions in the nostrils will be placed to perform the procedure.

Through the incisions, the surgeon will remove, add or modify nasal tissue, cartilage and bone during the procedure as per the pre-determined surgical plan. Implants or grafting may be used for some patients. In case of closed rhinoplasty, the internal incisions will leave no visible scarring.

Wound Closure

Once the nose modification is completed, the surgeon will close the incisions with removable or dissolvable sutures. Temporary drain tubes will be placed beneath the skin in the incision area.
Nasal packing and a splint may be placed for a few days after the surgery is completed. Profound and reliable plastic surgeon Dr. Thomas Fiala receives patients from Orlando, Altamonte Springs, FL, and other neighborhoods and cities in this area of The Sunshine State for rhinoplasty.

Rhinoplasty Plastic Surgery Risks and Safety | Orlando Plastic SurgeryRhinoplasty cosmetic surgery has a high success rate, and will lead to safe and predictable outcomes as long as the procedure is performed by a board certified and experienced surgeon. However, like any surgery, rhinoplasty is associated with certain potential risks and complications, which should be known to the patient before they decided to go ahead with it.

The surgeon will discuss the temporary side effects as well as risks and complications of rhinoplasty during the initial consultation.

The patient should have the commitment to follow the surgeon’s instructions carefully for a safe surgery. Fiala Aesthetics Plastic Surgery, led by board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Thomas Fiala, provides rhinoplasty to patients in Orlando, Altamonte Springs, FL, and surrounding communities.

Potential Complications

While side effects of rhinoplasty are mostly transient and minor in nature, more serious complications may occur in exceptional cases. These may include:

  • Infection during or after the nose surgery
  • Adverse reaction to general anesthesia or lidocaine
  • Breathing obstruction in the nostrils
  • Chronic nosebleeds
  • Numbness in the incision area or altered sensation
  • Perforations in the septum
  • Fluid collection under the skin
  • Burst blood vessels
  • Conspicuous scarring in case of open rhinoplasty
  • Asymmetrical shape of the nose
  • Possibility of revision nose surgery

Scarring Risks

The potential of scarring exists in virtually every form of cosmetic surgery. However, in case of closed rhinoplasty, the incisions will be made inside the nostrils, and no scarring will be visible on the outside. But in case of open rhinoplasty, an additional incision will be made across the columella, which may result in a minor scar.

Aesthetic or Functional Problems

An unsatisfactory aesthetic outcome may occur if the communication between the surgeon and patient was not adequate, or due to a surgical error. In any case, rhinoplasty results take about one year to establish fully, and the patient should allow that much time to determine whether they want a revision procedure.

In a few cases, the patient may experience functional problems such as breathing difficulty through the nostrils after rhinoplasty. A corrective surgery may have to be performed in such situations.

Risk Reduction

The selection of the plastic surgeon will be the single most important factor that will contribute to the final results and impact the risk profile in rhinoplasty. An experienced and ABPS board certified plastic surgeon would typically adopt cutting edge surgical techniques and follow the latest safety protocols to minimize the risks.

They usually manage to meet the delicate balance between the basic structural aspects of the face and nose and the patient’s cosmetic goals. At the same time, the patient’s own commitment to diligently adhere to all pre- and post-operative care instructions will make a difference to the final outcome.

The patient should have the confidence to share vital information about their current or past medical issues, prescription and non-prescription drugs and supplements, and the habit of smoking, alcohol and narcotics, if any. Profound and cordial plastic surgeon Dr. Thomas Fiala receives patients from Orlando, Altamonte Springs, FL, and other cities and towns in the amazing state of Florida for rhinoplasty.

CoolSculpting Recovery Time | Orlando Medical Spa | Altamonte SpringsOne of the most appealing factors that has placed CoolSculpting among the top fat reduction body contouring procedures is that it does not involve cosmetic surgery as well as no specific recovery time. Dr. Thomas Fiala of Fiala Aesthetics Plastic Surgery is a board certified plastic surgeon providing CoolSculpting to patients in Orlando, Altamonte Springs, FL, and surrounding locations in the terrific and popular state of Florida.

Immediately after CoolSculpting

While CoolSculpting will not hinder the patient’s ability to resume their normal routine immediately after the treatment session, the patient should be aware of some minor side effects that may occur after the treatment.

  • The treated sites may feel or look a little stiff with temporary whitening of the skin.
  • The patient could experience mild dizziness or nausea for a few minutes as the body warms up after the intense cooling process and sensation returns.
  • As the applicator is removed, some redness may be seen in the affected area. This is an expected, transient effect after CoolSculpting.
  • Mild bruising, swelling, and tenderness may occur in a few cases after the procedure. This will typically resolve in a week or two.
  • On the first day, the patient may complain of a slight tingling, cramping and stinging in the treated sites.
  • Temporary dulling of sensation may occur in some cases.

These transient side effects normally do not require any specific treatment. Many patients, in fact, schedule their CoolSculpting treatment session during their lunch hour from work, and simply return to their workplace after the session. There are no restrictions on movement, eating or drinking after the procedure.

Days after CoolSculpting

Following a CoolSculpting session, the initial side effects will improve within a few hours to a few days. However, if the patient suffers from persistent redness, pain or swelling beyond 15 days, or the symptoms worsen with time, they should contact the treatment provider.

First Two Weeks

Mild side effects are expected in most cases, which would resolve in about two weeks or less. But some patients may experience bruising that could take two to four weeks to disappear. Mild numbness in the treated areas may occur, which will gradually improve on its own. In some cases, this numbness could last for as long as eight weeks.

Within the first two weeks, the treated fat layers will gradually begin to get thinner after CoolSculpting. In about two to four months after the procedure, optimal results are seen. Most patients will experience noticeable and measurable fat reduction during this period.

After the Second Week

Although the patient will start feeling happier with their improving contours, with the fat bulges in the treated sites becoming slightly smaller and smoother, but some discomfort and numbness may persist in the third and fourth weeks.

New sculpted contours in the treated sites will become more conspicuous from the second month to the fourth month, and post-treatment symptoms will almost entirely disappear. Outstanding and fundamental plastic surgeon Dr. Fiala of Fiala Aesthetics Plastic Surgery receives patients from Orlando, Altamonte Springs, FL, and other neighborhoods and suburbs in this area of the southeast for CoolSculpting.

The consultation will usually be structured in a manner that it covers all the vital aspects, including patient education, determining of candidacy, and customized surgical planning for eyelid lift. Dr. Thomas Fiala of Fiala Aesthetics Plastic Surgery is a committed, cordial, and board certified plastic surgeon providing eyelid lift and various other procedures to patients in Orlando, Altamonte Springs, FL, and surrounding communities in this section of America.

Educating the Patient

During the pre-op consultation, the surgeon will inform the patient about the possible surgical techniques and treatment options, including upper and lower eyelid lift as well as brow lift or other facial procedures.

The patient will have an opportunity to ask questions and clear all their doubts and concerns about the procedure as well as the surgeon’s professional credentials. The patient should feel free to ask about costs and potential financing options.

Assessing Cosmetic Goals

During the consultation, the surgeon will try to understand the reasons why the patient wants to receive eyelid lift cosmetic surgery and which aspects of their upper or lower eyelid appearance may be making them unhappy. After a frank discussion about the patient’s innate cosmetic needs and goals, the surgeon can incorporate these inputs into the individualized eyelid lift plan.

Health Evaluation

The surgeon will go through the patient’s medical records during the consultation to determine their fitness for eyelid surgery. The surgeon will examine the patient’s eye anatomy, degree of skin laxity in the upper and lower lids, brows and forehead area, and skin type and tone. They will also look for any signs of untreated infection in the eye area. If the patient has any underlying health issues, they should disclose it to the surgeon during the consultation.

Information Sharing

If the patient has received any eye surgery, including LASIK, in the past or has suffered any significant eye ailment, they should share this information with the surgeon. They will also be required to inform the surgeon about any specific lifestyle habits such as smoking and drinking, as well as provide the details of all prescription and non-prescription medications that they may be currently taking.

Accomplished and fantastic plastic surgeon Dr. Fiala receives patients from Orlando, Altamonte Springs, FL, and nearby areas for eyelid lift surgery.

Pre- and Post-Op Care Instructions

During the consultation, the surgeon or their staff will provide detailed instructions to the patient to prepare in advance for the eyelid lift surgery. Working individuals will be advised to apply for leave for at least one week from the date of surgery. The surgeon may also suggest them to arrange for transportation to return home after the surgery as well as arrange for aftercare for a few days, if necessary.
