How Long Does Juvederm Last?

Juvederm is a family of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. Within this family are:

• Juvederm ULTRA
• Juvederm ULTRA PLUS
• Juvederm ULTRA XC
• Juvederm Voluma
• ULTRA PLUS XC

Each of these options is formulated to address different concerns, but all work by restoring hyaluronic acid levels in the skin; restoring fullness and increasing the body’s ability to trap moisture, allowing the smooth and attractive results produced by Juvederm to last for several months.

Juvederm Results

Several factors will impact how long your Juvederm treatment lasts.  These include which type of Juvederm was used, which areas of the face were treated, and how much filler was injected. Who injected your fillers can play a large roll in results as well.
Most Juvederm formulations are expected to last around 12 months. Some providers recommend touch-ups every six months to maintain optimal results, but each person is different and the space between appointments will vary slightly. The best way to learn how long you can realistically expect Juvederm to last is through a consultation with an experienced plastic surgeon.

What is Juvederm Recovery Like?

Recovery from Juvederm is nominal. There are some restrictions on exercise for 24 hours and certain medications and substances that will need to be avoided for a day or two, but by and large, recovery is quick and painless.
Some bruising is possible around the injection site. So too is redness, firms, mild swelling, and bumps. Most of these things will self-correct within the first few days. Bruising may last for a few weeks. During this time, a concealer can work to hide the temporary discoloration.

How Long Until I See Juvederm Results?

Once bruising and swelling have subsided, typically around one to three weeks, your Juvederm results will be finalized. It is important to take care of your skin during and after this period to help ensure the longest-lasting results.
